For nearly a decade, I have been dedicated to empowering children through yoga, mindfulness, and other transformative skills to gain self-awareness, confidence, self-regulation, compassion and resilience.

I offer everything from one-time presentations for educators, after-school programming, group and individual classes at my yoga studio, to my weekly programming, which includes:

  • A trained mindfulness instructor comes to your class and will instruct youth in brief mindfulness lessons, ranging from 30-45 minutes, one to two times per week. Teachers and youth continue short mindfulness practices on their own once the program is complete. Students learn to apply mindfulness to all daily experiences. Lessons include:

    • Mindful listening

    • Body awareness

    • Mindful breathing

    • Mindful movement

    • Mindful eating

    • Mindfulness of thoughts

    • Mindfulness of emotions

    • Mindful test-taking

    • Cultivation of positive states like kindness, generosity, and gratitude

    With this initiative and the programming I utilize, my goal is to educate students with what I consider to be life skills (namely, paying attention and practicing self-regulation).... and with access to the right resources, and through cooperation and community empowerment, I believe we can all facilitate progress in this area. I design, deliver and train youth, educators, and any interested youth service providers in furthering said mission. After all these years, I continue to strive to make a difference where our kids spend the majority of their time- in school.
